Evelyn S. Sawyer, Ph.D, President and CEO
Dr. Sawyer earned a Ph.D in Zoology from the University of New Hampshire in 1974 while she was the biologist for the first salmon farm on the East Coast. Dr. Sawyer continued working with fish as a pathologist for the Sea Grant Program until she founded Sea Run. She has been Principal Investigator in over $4 million of NSF and NIH Grants to Sea Run, and has guided the company through the transition from salmon aquaculture to biotechnology. She is an author of twelve patents and a number of publications.
Charlton H. Ames, MBA, Vice President
Upon graduation from Harvard business school in 1970, Mr. Ames joined the consulting firm of Arthur D. Little (ADL) in Cambridge MA. At ADL he worked with a diverse group of clients including moving to Brazil where he upgraded management systems for the Brazilian company CSN. Since 1977 he has worked in venture capital starting with Ames and Wellman Company. In 1985, he became general partner of Katahdin Securities (KS). KS was a venture capital partnership operating from Morse Payson and Noyes in Portland, Maine from 1985 to 2002. Mr. Ames became Sea Run’s chairman of the board in 1990.
Paul A. Janmey, Ph.D., Chief Scientist
Dr. Janmey is a professor of physiology, physics, and bioengineering at the Institute of Medicine and Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania. He received his Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the University of Wisconsin, and was a research fellow at the Hematology-Oncology Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Dr. Janmey’s research interests include the interaction between cytoskeletal and extracellular matrix stiffness, effects of substrate mechanics on cell structure and function, phosphoinositide signaling for actin assembly, fibrin-based materials for wound healing, and intermediate filament assembly and mechanics. He was awarded the Humboldt Prize in 2007 for his research.

Bradford S. Wellman, JD
Mr. Wellman has a JD from Harvard. He is the co-founder of Seven Islands Land Co. and President of Pingree Associates. Currently he is a Director and Officer of a bank, insurance company, a mutual fund, and several non-profits. Mr. Wellman served two terms in the Maine House of Representatives.
Sherwood E. Bain, MBA
Sherwood (Joe) Bain holds a BA and MBA from Harvard, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. He has broad experience in finance, both as a partner in a NYSE firm and as a Director of a commercial bank. He has been a financial columnist for the Boston Globe and the Christian Science Monitor.
Keng Pee Ang, Ph.D
Dr. Ang earned a Ph.D from the University of British Columbia where he invented a new fish pellet technology. He was a Technical Manager for Marine Harvest Ltd. and Stolt Sea Farms. He is Vice-President for R&D at Cooke Aquaculture Ltd. the largest salmon aquaculture company in North America.
William N. Bancroft, MBA
William (Nick) Bancroft holds an AB and MBA from Harvard. He was an Operations Analyst for the Comptroller of the Foxboro Company, President and Treasurer of Si- Cal, and a Partner of J.M. Forbes & Co. He was a Director of the New England Forestry Foundation and is a Corporate Board member of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.
